hello again! we have been so busy working on putting together some wonderful things for all you generous people, and today i am so excited to share the details with you. so here is the deal: as you can see on the thermometer over there on the right, we want to send $3,000 to angelia for rebuilding her studio. so far we have $360 raised, and now we are ready to really get rolling to bring in the rest.
we have also gotten some really generous artists to contribute and create some pieces for the fundraiser! so here is how it works (there's a lot of exciting information here, so be sure to soak it all in!):

for a contribution of $5, you will receive a 'save the thread' custom-designed desktop download, created by mr. will bryant himself. it looks something like this (he even made one for your iphone!):

for a contribution of $10, you will receive the download AND a hand-written thank you note from us, AND a little bit of bling of this variety:

for a contribution of $30, you can receive the download, the thank you note, the button, AND a great piece of art created by one of seven talented artists who have kindly donated their work for the fundraiser. here's a little sampling of what you can receive:

your artwork will arrive safely in a beautiful, custom-made envelope from paula at pickalapoopa. aren't they gorgeous?:

and, if you can find it in your heart (and wallet!) to give $50 or more, we will send you the download, the thank you note, the button, and not one, but two pieces of art! whoa! so if you like concise lists, i'll break it down for you:
$5: desktop artwork for your computer and/or iphone.
$10: desktop download, save the thread button, and hand-written thank you note
$30: desktop download, save the thread button, thank you note, and original artwork (if you have a preference of what you would like to receive, let me know and i will do my best to send you your request! quantities of art from each artist is limited, however, so i can't make any guarantees!)
$50: desktop download, save the thread button, thank you note, and TWO pieces of artwork.

things have been pretty quiet here on the red thread blog, but only because we are working on cooking up some seriously cool details for a kickin' public radio-style fund drive. we have gathered together some great artists to contribute pieces as thank you gifts for contributions. do you like yourself some lisa solomon?

do you like some jess gonacha?

do you like yourself some will bryant? (who could not like this guy?!)

these are just three of the lovely people who are sharing their art (and in some cases, making specific pieces) for the red thread fundraiser. watch the blog for details on gifts you can receive with your contribution and a complete list of participating artists. in the meantime, you can also follow the red thread on twitter, and put a 'save the thread' badge on your blog sidebar like cindy did (as soon as i figure out real instructions on that, i will post them, i promise!).
things won't be quiet for long, so keep an eye on our little blog and help us spread the word--it really won't take much to get that 90% of funds raised for angelia!

The following sellers will be offering discounts for 'thread' participants and/or will include a proceed of their August sales toward Angelia's relief:

Inklore will offer a 10% discount to 'Red Threaders' on any item in her shoppe and will also donate 10% of all sales from August toward Angelia.

Lawre's Laine:
Lawre will be purchasing a booth space at River City Knitters, where a % of her sales will go toward Red Thread Studio.

On August 7th, Red Thread Studio, a local studio/craft space in Virginia was engulfed in flames. "Save the Thread" is dedicated to revitalizing the space and helping owner Angelia back on her feet.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 toward the effort and we'll be posting our progress here on the site. Check back often to find out ways you can help save the thread.
